Since 2005
Building Lifelong Relationships by Creating Timeless Outdoor Living Spaces®
Archterra Landscape Services, LLC is a landscape design, construction and grounds management company based in Puyallup, Washington. We are locally owned and family-operated, founded in 2005, and we still work the greater Puget Sound region the same way we started: with our own crews, on our own schedule, without handing any part of the job to a subcontractor.
One company, both halves of the work
Most landscape companies pick a side: a design-build shop that leaves once the install is done, or a mow-and-blow crew that never touches a retaining wall. Archterra runs both. Our design and construction division handles the grading, the walls, the pavers, the water features and the lighting from first sketch to finished grade. Our landscape management division then keeps it that way, with mowing, bed care, irrigation upkeep and seasonal cleanups scheduled year-round. Commercial, multifamily and large residential estates each get a dedicated account manager, so the property is not re-explained to someone new every visit.
That combination is also why we push irrigation on properties that already get plenty of rain. The Pacific Northwest's wet winters hide a dry summer problem: without a consistent watering schedule, lawns and beds go into distress fast once the dry months hit. We would rather build the system in at the start than get the call after the plantings have already struggled.
No project here starts with a sales pitch. It starts with a free, no-obligation, on-site consultation with a landscape designer, who walks the property, asks what you want it to do, and works out what permits (if any) the scope requires before anything is scheduled. We handle those permit applications ourselves when a project needs one.

Our own crews on a finished patio and fire pit build, with the client who hired them. No subcontractors on the job site, start to finish.
Our own people, not a rotating cast of subcontractors
Our skilled, licensed crews work directly for Archterra. That is a deliberate choice, not a marketing line: it is how a project keeps consistent quality from the first day of digging to the last day of clean-up, and it is why someone always answers the phone when a client calls with a question mid-project. Clients who have worked with us describe the same experience: a designer named Rob who meets on-site to walk through the vision, the budget and the design options, and an install crew where reviewers repeatedly name Max and Marco for how hard they work and how clean they leave a site, rain or shine.
We are licensed and fully insured, and we give clients a transparent project schedule rather than an open-ended "we'll get to it." Between design sign-off and the day a crew shows up, the honest answer is that lead times move with the season: peak spring and summer construction books out further ahead, which is exactly why winter is the practical time to work through design and planning.

Recognized locally, working the greater Puget Sound region
In 2025, Archterra was named Best of the South Sound by South Sound Magazine, a third-party award rather than something we say about ourselves. We take it as a marker of the same thing our clients tell us directly: that the work holds up after the crew leaves.
Our design and build division serves the greater Puget Sound region, and our landscape management division works specifically across King and Pierce County, close enough to every property that a dedicated account manager can actually get out to it. We work directly with property management companies across the region on commercial and multifamily grounds, and our design and build side also designs, installs and maintains rooftop gardens for the properties that have them.
